Taj Mahal Quartzite Slab
Taj Mahal Quartzite is a Brazilian stone honed to a soft, cloud-grey finish, with the kind of quiet, natural movement across the surface that comes from stone rather than anything manufactured to imitate it.
It suits kitchen benchtops, cladding, flooring, furniture and feature walls, and holds up to daily use better than most natural stone — quartzite is one of the more resilient options available for a genuinely high-traffic kitchen.
Quartzite forms when sandstone is subjected to enough heat and pressure to fuse its quartz grains together — harder and less porous than marble’s calcite structure, which is why it resists scratching and etching far better and needs less careful handling day to day. Run a hand across a honed slab and there’s a faint tooth to the surface rather than the glassy uniformity of an engineered product — that’s the stone, not a flaw.
