Ijen Blue Quartzite Slab
Ijen Blue takes its name from Kawah Ijen, a volcanic region famous for its blue flame phenomenon — a fitting reference for a quartzite running genuine blue and grey through beige, rust and white.
It suits kitchen benchtops, cladding, flooring and furniture, and is one of the more distinctive colour stories in the quartzite range alongside Olympia and Blu Roma.
Blue quartzite gets its colour from trace minerals — commonly dumortierite or riebeckite — caught up in the original sandstone before it fused under heat and pressure; genuinely uncommon compared to the greys and beiges that dominate most quartzite ranges.
