Corten Quartzite Slab

Corten takes its name from the weathering steel it visually echoes — brown and grey through rust and black, closer to an aged metal surface than a typical stone pattern.

It suits kitchen benchtops, cladding, flooring and furniture, and works particularly well in industrial or warm-metal interior schemes where a literal steel surface isn’t practical.

The rust tones here come from iron oxide within the original sandstone, concentrated unevenly enough to read as genuine movement rather than a flat rust colour — the same iron chemistry responsible for the colour of corten steel itself, coincidentally, even though the two materials form in completely different ways.
