Grey Fire Marble Slab
Grey Fire is a Turkish marble running a grey base through beige, gold and white veining, polished to a full gloss — Turkey is one of the world’s largest marble-producing countries, though its stone is less commonly seen in the Australian market than Italian marble.
It suits kitchen benchtops, cladding, flooring and furniture, and the gold-toned veining against grey gives it a warmer read than the more common grey-and-white Italian marbles in the range.
Turkish marble deposits formed under broadly the same geological conditions as the Italian Apuan Alps stone, though the specific mineral impurities present differ by region — which is why marble from different countries, even when superficially similar in colour, often varies in the fineness and warmth of its veining.
