Arabescato Corchia Marble Slab

Arabescato Corchia takes its name from Monte Corchia in Tuscany’s Apuan Alps — the same range that produces Carrara marble. It shows a grey-and-white ground threaded with dark, near-black veining that moves across the surface in loose, irregular sweeps. No two pieces run the same way, which is the point of choosing marble over anything manufactured to look like it.

It suits kitchen benchtops, cladding, feature walls, flooring and furniture, and sits alongside Arabescato Vagli and Arabescato Rosso in the same family for anyone weighing up a slightly different colour balance.

Marble is a metamorphic limestone, and its veining comes from mineral impurities — commonly carbon or graphite, in the case of the darker, near-black lines seen here — trapped in the original rock and reshaped under heat and pressure. It’s softer than granite or quartzite, which is why it takes a honed finish so smoothly.
